About the house

A quiet house for extraordinary names.

Nameups exists to put a small number of exceptional domains into the hands of the people who will build something worthy of them.

A great domain is the only part of a company that is, by definition, one of one. Everything else can be copied. The name cannot.

We started Nameups because the market for premium names felt broken at both ends. Buyers faced a wall of noise — millions of mediocre listings, aggressive upsells, and the constant low hum of risk that someone might take the money and run. Sellers, meanwhile, watched genuinely good names languish on platforms that treated a five-figure asset the same as a $9 renewal. We thought the best names deserved a better room to be sold in.

What we are

We are a curator, not a marketplace. Most of the names you see are owned by us — chosen, one at a time, for the rare quality that turns a word into a brand. A smaller number come from outside owners and partners we have vetted, who list with us precisely because of the company their name keeps here. We would rather show you forty names worth considering than forty thousand you have to dig through.

Behind the scenes, Nameups is operated by STARSHAPE LTD, a Nimit company based in London. We work with established escrow services and registrar partners — including domainture.com for fresh registrations — so that whether you are buying a flagship asset or registering a brand-new name, the path is secure from first click to final transfer.

What we believe

  • Fewer, better. A tight collection of names that genuinely deserve attention beats an endless catalogue that wastes yours.
  • Trust is the product. Every transaction is escrow-protected, start to finish. No exceptions, no shortcuts, no "just send it and we promise".
  • Discretion by default. Serious acquisitions are private matters. We treat your enquiry, your budget and your plans as confidential.
  • Meaning matters. A name carries a sound, a story and — if you care to read it — a frequency. We tell you all three.
  • Fair to sellers, fair to buyers. We price honestly, negotiate in good faith, and never play one side against the other.

The frequency, explained

You will notice a small number on every name in our collection. That is its Chaldean frequency — a figure drawn from one of the oldest naming systems in the world, popularised in the modern era by the celebrated astrologer Cheiro. Each letter carries a value; we sum them, reduce them, and the result points to an archetype: the Pioneer, the Merchant, the Sovereign, and so on.

We are clear-eyed about this: it is brand storytelling, not financial advice. But founders have chosen names by feel for as long as there have been names, and many enjoy knowing the character a word carries before they commit a company to it. Think of it as a little extra meaning, offered freely — take it as flavour, never as fact.

Where we are going

Nameups is growing deliberately. We are expanding the collection, opening a careful door to partner listings, and deepening our registration service through domainture.com so that one day you can discover, acquire, register and manage every name you own in one trusted place. If you are building something serious and the right name is the missing piece, we would like to help you find it.
